Yesterday One Pretty Thing featured these adorable planters made from paint buckets. I wanted to make 4 flower pots for my front steps, and I was planning on painting or "patching" some terracotta pots but was just a little afraid of having them kicked and broken. These pots, made by Kate over at Centsational Girl, are the perfect compromise. I’ve begun work on mine, with a few changes, but I’m ever so grateful to Kate for the great inspiration.
I have not updated in a week. Much has been happened, little recorded. As of tomorrow, Tim and I are on vacation. Him for a week, me for 2. We are taking a "stay-at-home" vacation. We plan to unplug the phones… hmmm, I mean power down the phones, roll up the sidewalks and move underground. No work, no blogging (at least not at www.weefolkart.com) and as little interaction with the outside world as possible!
What we plan to do is eat breakfast in the gardens, catch a few movies, and do some gardening. Individually… I want to attack my sewing room and adjacent attic closet. Tim has been renovating the kitchen for the past year and a half. He’s about 1/3 the way through! He plans to be 2/3 through by the end of vacation!
Since this blog is first and foremost a record keeping devise for me, there will probably be a lot of activity here. Stop by often and share our "relaxing" vacation!
BTW… these past week has lead me to start a new "list". Recycled items to save. After a rather humorous quest for 2 liter pop bottles (we don’t buy 2 liters of soda!) for seedling protectors, and now paint cans, I am starting a list of things that I want saved for future products.
