Planting the Potato Boxes

Posted on April 27, 2009May 9, 2009 by tjwise1954

After dinner everyone was out in the garden ready to plant the potato seeds. We got 2 varieties from Big Acre. Yukon Gold and Red Nuggets. Fairy and Pixie were all about helping. The girls, especially Fairy, are born gardeners, Bug… not so much so! He looked in on what we were doing but used the garden paths to practice Tae Kwondo! I’ve never planted potatoes before so this should be quite an experience. According to the article in the Seatle Times  we’ll get 200 pounds of potatoes. That’s a lot of spuds!

I’ve never grown potatoes before but I think I’d be willing to give up 4 square feet to try. Thanks for the link. Funny. My 2 girls like to garden with me but my 2 boys don’t. But neither does DH. I wonder if there’s some connection!
